Euphonic: an adjective describing sounds that are pleasing to the ear, harmonious, or sweet-sounding.

A friend ask me Hey Burt can you play at my fundraising event for the Black Waterman's Monument? It would be me and another musician. Maybe play an hour by switching back and forth with the other guy. I asked if I could think about it.

I had an idea. A guitar duo playing jazz inspired cocktail hour background music. But I needed another guitar player. Ren Kennedy was the logical choice. The duo was complete

Well, the day before the event the other guy cancelled. No problem for us, we played the entire gig. And had a lot of fun doing it. I had the feeling we were on to something good in the "find a need and fill it" department.

Afterwards I knew I needed a name. It was not easy. Then I somehow found the word euphonic. EUPHONIC describes the music that we perform. Alright, done.

Who we are:

Burton Jamison I have been playing more than 50 years. I opened Island Guitar Studios (a teaching studio) in Stevensville, MD in 2012. I was awarded the Shore Update Readers Choice/ Golden Anchor Award for Best Guitar Teacher two years in a row. Teaching guitar is my passion.

Ren Kennedy is a Senior at Kent Island High School, and a long time student at Island Guitar Studios. Ren (right) was chosen from many students because of his playing ability and his natural talent.

What we do:

Provide up to 2 hours of Jazz inspired, low volume, no vocals background music for your event on or near Kent Island. We usually only play for an hour but can extend if needed. .

Private Party, Wedding, Winery, Corporate Gathering, Opening For Other Artists, you name it. Last minute? We will try our best to accommodate you.

We use two electric guitars and two small low watt Fender amplifiers.

We played for the Black Waterman's Monument Fundraiser at the Kent Island Resort in April 2026. Mentioned above.

We recently played at Channel Side (at the Kentmorr Marina) during a Friday Happy Hour (July17, 2026).
