As
a matter of fact, some older Fender, Gibson, Mosrite, Danelectro,
Yamaha, Teisco, Martin, PRS and other guitars and amps are
very valuable! Vintage Martin, Fender, Gibson and other brand
guitars could be worth more than $50,000!.
Some old guitar cases can be worth thousands of dollars. The
same with old microphones and effects pedals (also called
"stomp boxes").
Two examples of valuable effects pedals. A vintage Uvi-Vibe
on the left (Jimi Hendrix made famous) and Dallas Arbiter
Fuzz Face on the right (Jimi made that famous too). The first
1966 Fuzz Face colors were Red, Black or Hammered Silver and
sell for $2,000 - $5,000. Added later was Blue, Light Gray
and Dark Gray. The
early ones 1966 - '68 "smile" said "Arbiter-England"
and during 1968 changed to "Dallas-Arbiter England".
Then it changed again through the years until they stopped
production in 1975. Some Fuzz Face pedals were produced by
other companies after 1975 and may not be as valuable.

Hello,
I am Burt and can help you determine the condition, year,
model, factory order number, rarity, estimated value etc.of
your musical gear. Vintage guitars, amps, and effects can
be in like new to very used condition. If your gear is in
like new or even very used to poor condition please contact
me about the possible value!
I can
list and sell your gear, so you can avoid the many hassles
of selling. The
listings, scammers, low ballers, time wasters, payment types,
negotiations, that kind of stuff. And most important,
do you want strangers visiting your home? I wouldn't either.
My service
area is
Anne Arundel County, MD and Queen Anne's County, MD.
Other
parts of Maryland case by case.
For
those outside of my service area. I may be able to
recommend someone that I have known for many years and travels
just about anywhere in the USA to look at guitars and amps.
Please contact me by email burt120@gmail.com
with your location and what you are selling (along with a
picture if possible) and I will check with him. If he is interested
I will have him get directly in contact with you. If he is
not, I will get back to you with the reason and other possible
options.
Let's
say you are selling a guitar in my service area of Queen Anne's
County, MD. I will come to you to take pictures of the guitar,
which will stay in your possession. You are welcome to bring
the guitar to my studio to take pictures there, and then you
can take it back home. Up to you.
When I find a serious
buyer, I pick up the guitar, meet the buyer at my studio on
Kent Island (By Appointment Only) who will try it out there.
Sometimes we meet in a public place. If they buy, I deliver
the cash the same day. If it does not work out I will return
the guitar to you until I find the next prospective buyer.
Although most sellers ask me to keep it at my studio (in a
very secure building). It is easier that way for most sellers.
Why deal with
me?
- I promise
to work for you, to do a good job for you, and to get you
the best price I am able in the marketplace, with the least
amount of selling fees. I try to avoid Reverb, EBay, PayPal
and other fee based companies. But I do have accounts with
them and have used them in the past. I have accounts with
Zelle and Venmo and do use them but prefer to deal in cash.
- to
research the music gear that is being offered for sale and
determine a range of values. I can arrange an appraisal
if needed. When you are ready to sell I can help you by
listing it in several locations depending on what you are
selling. I weed out out the scams, low balls and time wasters.
I handle everything, from listing to delivering the cash
to you.
- to report all
inquiries and offers to you and then you tell me how to
proceed. Such as: ignore with no reply, heck no, counter
offer or acceptance or others. I try to avoid shipping but
am able to ship if necessary. I have shipped two Gibson
guitars ($3,500 & $3,600) to a buyer in Florida in 2024.
In 2007 I shipped an old 1951 Fender Tweed TV Front Deluxe
to the Netherlands. Other gear to Maryland, Nashville, NYC,
Virginia, California and other locations. But, shipping
can create issues. I have not had any but it is possible,
The possible issues with shipping can be discussed with
you when I am taking pictures of your musical gear for sale.
- I have more
than 50 years of experience with guitars, amplifiers, and
effects - both pedals and rack mounted. I have sold dozens
of both player grade and high end guitars for others through
the years. Martin, Gibson, Gretsch, Fender, PRS, Guild,
Squier, Dean and other brands. I have sold dozens of amps
and speaker cabinets, pedals and rack mounted effects as
well.
- I am a 33 year
resident of Kent Island, an Elks and American Legion member,
and the past owner of Consolidated Mortgage in Old Stevensville.
A very successful business, which I had from 1995 until
the Great Recession forced me to close.
- I have never
had a complaint from a Buyer or a Seller. Seller
and Buyer References on request.
I
lost a good friend two years ago. A professional player. He
owned some high end guitars and steel guitars. After he passed
his widow told me that he only trusted me to help her sell
his gear. A real honor. I have sold 3 pedal steels, 3 high
end Historic Custom Shop Gibson's - a 345, and two 355's,
a rare 1963 Epiphone electric, a PRS Standard 24, and 3 Fender
Signature Stratocaster models. Currently listed are a first
year
2007 Limited Edition Gibson Les Paul Robot Guitar (never
played only tuned and tested), a
2002 PRS Hardtail Custom 22 Cherry Sunburst 10 Top, and
a PRS
Sweet 16 Tuxedo amp, and more PRS guitars. See
the Complete
List Here.
Next up are 3 Tom
Anderson's: an
Anderson Drop Top Hollow Shorty 24.75" Short Scale
Strat Style, an
Anderson Cobra Shorty 24.75" Short Scale Tele Style,
and an
Anderson Angel 24 Fret 25.5" Standard Scale Strat
Style. See
the Complete
List Here.
I am now in the process
of listing a vintage
1963 Gibson C0 Classical guitar, a vintage 1940's
Oahu Hawaiian Style Acoustic Body Lap Steel square neck
parlor size guitar with a
vintage sound hole pickup, and a vintage 1996 G
& L S-500 Strat. It is basically Leo's original 1950's
Stratocaster updated to his new modern and improved standards
at G & L. First introduced in 1982. An 80's Washburn
DC60E Lexington 24 Fret Acoustic Electric guitar,
built in Japan. See the Complete
List Here.
All can be viewed
in person at Island Guitar Studios BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Burt
Cell: 410-739-1511. Email:burt120@gmail.com.
Located in the Chesapeake Bay Business Park across the street
from the PRS guitar factory main entrance, in the R.T.I. building
401 Log Canoe Circle in Stevensville. When you have an appointment,
you call me when you get there. I will let you in and escort
you to my studio. Some government work goes on there upstairs,
so the building is very secure.
A
friend I played music with in the 70's & 80's (and even
now sometimes) calls me to sell any music gear he no longer
uses. I have sold at least 2 dozen guitars, amps, speakers,
pickups, microphones, and effects of his over the last 12
years.
Again, my service
area to take pictures and list your music gear is Anne Arundel
County MD, and Queen Anne's County, MD. Other Maryland and
Eastern Shore counties case by case, and you supply the pictures
or bring the gear to Kent Island. Pictured at left is
a rare 80's Gibson Q-300. MVX body style, Explorer 3 electronics
(3 P90's, 2 toggles (3-way), 1 Volume, 1 Tone), Wilkinson
tremolo w/ locking nut, & non explorer banana shaped head
stock.
There are several
online sites where I list your gear. I will sell in the lower
48 but prefer to deal locally in Maryland. Other areas are
the rest of MD, VA & W VA, DE, DC, NJ, & PA. I have
found that serious buyers will drive to Kent Island. Under
some circumstances I can meet them half way. I can and will
pack and ship when needed. I
can supply a guitar shipping box if needed. All part of my
service.
My fee is very reasonable.
It is a percentage based on the final sale price.
We can
talk about my fee when the estimated / selling price is determined.
Thank
you for your consideration.
Please
contact me, Burt, now while you are online with:
-
any questions,
- to
make an appointment for me to see your gear,
-
to have me recommend someone to help you.
